ERT100™ Earth Ground Resistance Tester
The Armada ERT100 Earth Ground Resistance Tester is a professional instrument for measuring the resistance of 2-wire electrical equipment safety grounds. Its large display and simple controls make it easy to verify the lightning safety earth connection on new or existing control systems.
A good earth ground is the first line of defense against lightning and power surges. In 2-wire irrigation and control systems, a poor ground connection can leave decoders, controllers, and other equipment exposed to damage. Verifying ground resistance during installation, and checking it again over time, protects the system and the investment behind it.
The ERT100 offers both two-pole and three-pole earth resistance test modes, so you can choose the method that suits the site. It measures earth resistance from 0 to 4,000 ohms using a constant-current 800 Hz signal of about 3 mA. A built-in earth voltage safety check helps confirm conditions before you test.

Overview
-
3-Pole Method
For a conventional 3-pole ground-resistance test, the ERT100 uses the grounding electrode under test plus two auxiliary stakes. The instrument injects a test current into the earth and measures the resulting voltage to calculate resistance.
-
2-Pole Method
The 2-pole mode is useful when a suitable known ground/reference is available and you need a simpler test arrangement. The exact connection procedure and acceptable resistance values depend on the installation and applicable electrical standards, so the manufacturer’s procedure should be followed rather than treating one resistance value as universally acceptable.
