GFL3000™ Ground Fault Locator

The Armada Technologies GFL3000™ Ground Fault Locator is a professional diagnostic tool designed to locate hidden ground faults, cuts, nicks, and damaged insulation in buried wiring. Built for contractors and maintenance professionals, the GFL3000 helps pinpoint where underground cable has become exposed to ground—without requiring extensive excavation or guesswork.

The GFL3000 uses a transmitter and receiver system to identify the location of a ground fault. The transmitter applies a controlled electrical charge to the wire being tested, and when that signal reaches a fault where the conductor is exposed to ground, the receiver detects the change. By following the receiver’s directional meter response, technicians can narrow down the fault location and minimize unnecessary digging.

With dual high/low voltage sensitivity, continuous battery-status indication, and a rechargeable battery system, the GFL3000 provides the flexibility needed for routine field troubleshooting. The kit includes the rechargeable battery along with AC and DC chargers, making it convenient to keep ready for repeated jobs.

Overview

The GFL3000 is designed to solve a common underground wiring problem: a buried cable has been damaged, but the exact location of the fault isn’t known.

A nick, cut, crushed section, or damaged section of insulation can allow the conductor to make contact with the surrounding soil. These ground faults can cause irrigation, lighting, and other underground electrical systems to malfunction.

To use the GFL3000, connect one transmitter lead to a suitable ground and the other to the wire being tested. Turn on the transmitter, then use the receiver to follow the directional meter kicks created by the fault signal. As you move toward the damaged section, the receiver’s response helps guide you toward the location of the fault.

The GFL3000 features high- and low-voltage sensitivity settings, allowing technicians to adapt the system to different troubleshooting conditions. A continuous battery-status display helps users monitor power while working, while the rechargeable battery and included AC/DC chargers provide convenient power management.
